Coach Lunsford Bio
James A. Lunsford is the founder and director of Southern Prep Hoops Basketball Camps. He spent the past three decades developing high school basketball by increasing the quality and integrity of basketball and camps throughout the Southeast. As a high school coach in Georgia, Coach Lunsford was honored by the Atlanta Tip-Off Booster Club and The Georgia High Association as one of the winning’s coaches in the state with 600 career wins. While coaching over 350 student-athletes received scholarships notably every senior. For a consecutive eight years, received a scholarship within his coaching tenure. Won 1981 GHSA State Championship, was Runner up in 89 while taking part in 6 final 4’s. He has been honored as Region and Coach of the Year several times, Georgia High School Coaches Association Coach of the Year several times, GACA All-Star Coach, and Georgia Sports Hall of Fame finalist.
He is a published author, lecturer and has coached and coordinated the following premiere high school basketball events: · GA/Tennessee All Star Basketball games · GA North/South All Star Basketball games · Boston-Shoot out teams · Has given Lectures at Universities, Camps, and Corporations throughout the Nation
As a devoted, educator, he was awarded the Gatorade Coaches Award for his Care for his Players.
Coach Lunsford earned a B.S. in Health and Physical Education and Masters Degree in Education.
